Ceremony #3

We have come together on this glorious evening to celebrate the marriage of BRIDE & GROOM.

It is one of life’s richest surprises when the fateful meeting of two individuals leads them to proceed together along a common path. It is indeed one of life’s finest experiences when a chance relationship grows into a permanent bond of love. It is one of those meetings and that kind of love that bring us together today.

Who gives this woman to be married to this man?

I would like to welcoming everyone and thanking each and every one of you for being here on this most happy of days. It’s no accident that each of you are here today, and each of you were invited to be here because you represent someone important in the individual and collective lives of BRIDE and GROOM.

MOMENT OF REMEMBRANCE

Before we begin, BRIDE & GROOM would like to honor those loved ones and friends who are not with us today. Let’s pause for a moment and bring them into our thoughts and into our hearts.

DECLARATION OF INTENT   (See File "Samples of Declaration of Intent" for more wording options)

BRIDE and GROOM, you have made a very serious and important decision in choosing to marry each other today. You are entering into a sacred covenant as life partners before God. The quality of your marriage will reflect what you put into nurturing this relationship. You have the opportunity to go forward from this day to create a faithful, kind, and tender relationship. Today We bless you. It is up to you to keep the blessings flowing each and every day of your lives together. We wish for you the wisdom, compassion, and constancy to create a peaceful sanctuary in which you can both grow and your relationship can flourish.

GROOM, do you understand and accept this responsibility, and do you promise to do your very best each day to create a loving, healthy, and happy marriage?

Groom: I do.

BRIDE, do you understand and accept this responsibility, and do you promise to do your very best each day to create a loving, healthy, and happy marriage?

Bride: I do.

We come to the point of your ceremony where you're going to say your vows to one another. But before you do that, I want to ask you to remember that love, which is rooted in faith, trust, and acceptance, will be the foundation of an abiding and deepening relationship. No other ties are more tender, no other vows more sacred than those you now assume. If you are able to keep the vows you take here today, not because of any religious or civic law, but out of a desire to love and be loved by another person fully, without limitation, then your life will have joy and the home you establish will be a place of refuge for you and those you love.

We you please turn and face one another and join your hands?

EXCHANGE OF VOWS   (See File "Samples of Vows" for more wording options)

GROOM, holding BRIDE by the hands and looking into her eyes, repeat after me: “BRIDE, I love you. You are my best friend. Today I give myself to you in marriage. I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you in time of joy, and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle. I promise to love you in good times and in bad, when life seems easy and when it seems hard, when our love is simple, and when it requires effort. I promise to cherish you, and to always hold you in highest regard. These things I give to you today, and all the days of our life.”

RING CEREMONY

The ring is a beautiful symbol of unending Love and commitment shared by a couple in marriage. They are made of precious metal; you must let your love become the most precious possession of your hearts. Each ring a circle, unbroken; and so to you must let your love, one for the other, be unbroken through all your earthly days.

GROOM do you have a ring for BRIDE?

BRIDE, as a token and pledge that you will faithfully perform your vows, will you receive and wear this ring?

GROOM, indicating your responsibility to BRIDE to receive her into your care and keeping, place the ring on the ring finger of her left hand and while holding it there, repeat after me. “As I give you this ring today I promise you that I will love you Forever and Always No matter what life takes us through. As I place it on your finger I commit my heart to you. I ask you to wear this ring as a reminder of the vows we have spoken today."
